OK, I admit it, I first bought copies of this book because it was Elizabeth Lowell's daughter. But it became one of the best and most realistic romantic suspense novels I've read in a long time, one that I would have to say could happen in real life. In the first chapter she peppers the murderer with pepper spray and a useless umbrella, kicks off her high heels and runs like the devil is after her. Most of the time I'm left wondering how they run in such high heels (me, I'm for flats most of the time).

The humor and action together makes for an interesting reading expecially toward the end when they finally figure out who done it and the murderer already has the witness in hand.
