As Lily works with attractive Police Chief Howard Walker on the local front, Robert pursues the Manhattan connection to this John Doe's identity.
Here we go again. Once more we are back in the 1930's with Lilly Brewester and her brother Robert, inhabitants of a Grace and Favor mansion known as Grace and Favor Cottage.
While tearing down an old Ice House a body comes to light, one that has been there for many years. A second body, of a more current nature, appears shortly afterwards. Are the two connected? Or are there two or more murderers in this corner of the Hudson Valley.
With her usual skill, Jill Churchill presents us with well rounded characters and a very interesting puzzle.
