This is a new author to me, and soon could become a favorite. Ms. Briggs is a natural storyteller. To play the fool has kept Ward of Hurog safe from death by his father, who would kill him, should he feel he was a rival for power. When his father dies, Ward becomes the new lord of Hurog. When questions arrive regarding his supposed inability to rule, Ward realizes he must prove himself worthy. This is an author to watch.
Nothing like a little war to promote the path of glory. The problem comes when the other side does not seem to understand that it’s a little war and it’s for glory. How our hero meets the challenge forms the basis for this interesting book.
