Madeline Baker

I'm one of those rare birds - a California native. I've lived in Southern California my whole life and I love it. I married my high school sweetheart, and we have three sons, all handsome enough to be cover models!

I never intended to be a published author. It just happened. I've always loved to read though. The Black Stallion books, Lad, a Dog, Nancy Drew, Mary Stewart. And then I discovered romance novels. One night, when my husband was at work and my kids were in bed and there was nothing on TV, I sat down and started writing a book of my own. The book was COMANCHE FLAME. I lived that story every waking minute and when I finished it, I wrote another one, and then another.

Finally, at a friend's urging, I started looking for a publisher. It took me six years and 31 rejections but Lesiure Books finally decided to take a chance on me, and I've been writing ever since. I also write paranormal romances under the name Amanda Ashley.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy reading, going to the movies, and attending the theater.
