Multi-published, two-time Golden Heart finalist Brenda Novak writes both historical and contemporary romance from her home in Sacramento, California. Since her first sale to HarperCollins in 1998, she's sold eight books to Harlequin Superromance. Her debut histiorical, OF NOBLE BIRTH (11/99), received a "KISS" Award from Romantic Times and has placed in several contests, including the Golden Quill, the Notable New Author, the Rising Star 2000, and the Bookseller's Best. Winner of the Beacon Award for Published Authors, the Heart of the West Award and the Aspen Gold Award for Best Historical of 1999, OF NOBLE BIRTH was also nominated by Romance Communications and Romantic Times for a Reviewer's Choice Award.

Brenda's contemporaries have received their own share of acclaim. EXPECTATIONS (2/00) was a Romantic Times "Top Pick" and was nominated for a National Reader's Choice Award and a Bookseller's Best Award. SNOW BABY (9/00) placed in the Write Touch and the Award of Excellence, and BABY BUSINESS (12/00), another Romantic Times "Top Pick" won the 2000 Beacon Award for Published Authors. DEAR MAGGIE, a romantic suspense, came out in May 2001 and WE SAW MOMMY KISSING SANTA CLAUS, Brenda's third Romantic Times "Top Pick" is just hitting bookstore shelves right now. SHOOTING THE MOON, A BABY OF MY OWN, and FOR LIFE will be out in 2002.

Brenda has given various writing workshops at the Romance Writers of America's National Convention in Washington DC, the Romantic Times Booklover's convention in Toronto, the Romantic Times Booklover's convention in Houston, and at various RWA and California Fiction Writer meetings. She's also done several local television and radio appearances.
